In this opportunity, I want to share knowledge with you with what I do this
time. On this occasion, I posted an assigned excercise assignment from my 2nd
english language lecturer on campus.
Ok just go ahead. This is an exercise from 21 to 30, Answer, Topic and the reasons for the answer.
Exercise 21
Q : I ......(accept) if they invite me to
the party
A : I will accept if they invite me
to the party
T : It is about conditional sentences
R : Because if clause use simple future
tense, so dependent clause is in the sentence.
Exercise 22
Q : Adam is used to ...(Sleep) late on
weekends
A : Adam is used to sleeping late
on weekends
T : It is about used to (verb+ing form)
R : Because
the sentencesb used to "verb-ing form".
Exercise 23
Q : Maria would rather
that we ....(study) more than we do
A : Maria would rather
that we studied more than we do
T : It is about would rather sentences
R : Because the sentence explains that this studied in
the context of verb in simple pas tense in this sentence
explains the present contrary to fact.
Exercise 24
Q : John isn’t here yet, he __(forget)
about our meeting
A : John isn’t here yet, he must have
forgotten about our meeting
T : This is about must/should followed by
perfective (isn't here yet)
R : Because the sentence describes the word must
followed perfective followed by verb 3
Exercise 25
Q : Henry’s car stopped on the highway, it

A : Henry’s car stopped on the highway, It
may have run out of gas
T : This is about modals followed by
perfective
R : Because the sentence describes the word modals
followed by the word have, followed by verb in past participle
(perfective)

Q : The plane will arrive (soon/soonly)
A : The plane will arrive soon
T : This is about adjectives and adverbs
sentences
R : Because in this sentence there is a word soon
which implements this
plane will soon arrive in the near future. And
includes the definite numeral adjective
Exercise 27
Q : The music sounded too (noisy/noisily)
to be classical
A : The music sounded too noisy to
be classical
T : This is about linking compulative
verbs
R : Because the sentence explains the element of
descriptive adjective and the correct pattern is to use the word
noisy in this sentence,
not noisy.
Exercise 28
Q : A greyhound runs ___(fast) than a
chihuahua
A : A greyhounds runs faster than a
chihuhua
T : It is about degree of comparison
R : Because Faster here explains the
comparison. The word possesses no more than 2 syllables, then the word ending
is added with ipher-as a complement to the
comparative adverb sentence. And the adverb here explains
the word runs that greyhound ran faster than the
chihuahua.
Exercise 29
Q : Sam wears the same shirt ____ his
teammates
A : Sam wears the same shirt as his
teammates
T : It is about comparisons
R : Because in this sentence becomes a
conjunctive word and this sentence pattern is used for equal
comparison.
Exercise 30
Q : This vegetable soup tastes very
(good/well)
A : This vegetable soup tastes very good
T : It is about comparisons
R : Because the Sentences "Good" is
the adjective that describes the noun is the vegetable soup itself.
